The Southland Sri Lankan Society’s 2026 Sri Lankan New Year celebration brought together around 500 people from across the region for a vibrant celebration of Sri Lankan culture, traditions and community.

The event also marked the official launch of the Southland Sri Lankan Society website and highlighted the growing strength and presence of the Sri Lankan community in Southland.
